Ottawa: the capital of Canada, a lovely city with gothic government buildings late-Victorian brick houses and a lot of Canadian art and history.   Ottawa offers beautiful outdoor pursuits. You can bike and ice skate on Rideau Canal right in the middle of the city. 

Niagara on the lake:  Half an hour’s drive from the famous falls. They inspired the painter Church, and draw millions of visitors every year.    The river that connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario and Goat Island, on the US side, divide the waters to form three cataracts. The Ontario Horseshoe is the most impressive one. For the best view, climb to the Skylon Tower.Wine tasting and Ontario’s impressive vineyards. You don’t need to fly to Napa Valley or the south of France to find some exquisite vino plus scenery. Kingston:  300 years of history and a rich heritage, grand old limestone public buildings and private residences lining downtown’s streets. As it is it is lively and you will find small galleries and good restaurants.   Prince Edward County:  Life is sweet, punctuated by walks and beach time. Wellington Beach is family friendly and upscale.  The countryside is very neat, with well-kept farms, orchards, vineyards.

Algonquin Park:  more than 2,000 lakes.  This is an ideal place where to hike, ride horses, and paddle.  You might even spot a black bear. The outdoor activities are well organized and the trails are very well marked.
